Hunted-poster by Asgrimson Hunted-poster by Asgrimson
This is my third horror movie poster after "Vampire Boobs" and "The Swamp terror"comes now the new film poster Hunted. This picture did I sketche out for a long time back but has been lying down and waiting a while for various reasons. But I decided now to finish it. Wanted to bring in an older sense of a old poster in the coloring. And I wonted it to seem like an old photo and I think that I have succeeded.
I still wanted to retain some colors and not dusturate the image too much because then I thought it lost to much of its charisma as I struggled to keep. However, I am not completely satisfied with the performance of this picture, but maybe I'm a little too self-critical, or so it was that I saw a completely different outcome in my head that I have not reached?
Which case it's an ok poster in which a young woman is attacked by the unknown monster that you see the camera angle of the mouth. It is like the viewer is the monster that eats up pinup girl.
Estimated time of this image from sketch to finished product, I would guess at took me about 10 hours.
I also give thanks to the "poison drop stock" for her (Old Photo Texture)
This helped me on my poster very much.
I hope this poster will do for you viewers out there;)

Good job. I am reminded of 1960-1970's Amazing Stories Magazines. The damsel in distress or in this case in de mouth theme always has a weak spot for me.

Many thanks. I become happy to read the comparison you give me;)
I agree that ladies in distress is certainly appealing.
I myself am very inspired from old movie posters such as Dracula and Frankenstein.
But in this case was the big inspiration from HP Lovecraft with the monster.
Thanks ~ KajuXian for your support:)

You can see your sources in the art. The lovecraft theme is a great one. I wonder if he knew in his time how novel his ideas were or how profound an influence he would have upon modern horror and science fiction.

True, I do not think he could have imagined how much ahead of his own time he was and how strong source of inspiration he was to become for authors and artists;)

You're quite welcome. :)
It's very good by itself, but the Retro styling and the Aged-worn look really boosts it's appeal. It has a nice 'feel' regarding the way things were back a few decades ago.

I am delighted that we think the same and for your good taste;)
I'm not entirely happy with this poster.
Felt that there were some things I wished that I had done better but I wanted to move on and not be too much a perfectionist and instead complete a product. So I agree with you completely that retro style gave the whole image an extra punch, but without it would the poster be a little boring in my opinion.

Well, they do say that the worst judge of a work is the Artist who made it. :)
But, it's an excellent work, stands on it's own very nicely, it's eye-catching, and has lots of little details for the eye to have fun with.
I have to agree, without the 'age' effect, it wouldn't have the right 'completeness' or 'feel'.
